Danny Craig Smith

TRINITY-Danny Craig Smith, 65, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017.

He was born in High Point, NC on December 23, 1951, to the late Early and Louise West Smith. A resident of this area all of his life; he was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and he had worked for Evergreen Nursing Home for 20 years. He was a member of His Laboring Few in Thomasville. Danny enjoyed riding; whether it was his Harley or four wheelers. His true love and passion was spending time with his family and his dogs; especially Abby. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle and he will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were a son, Travis Smith and 2 sisters, Connie Smith and Penny Brown.   

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 16 years, Vicki McIntyre Smith; his children, Adam Godwin, Tammy Mabe, Hank Smith, Daniel Smith, Angel Burgess, Danny “JR” Smith, Jr. and his wife Carrie; his step daughter, Jennie Jessup and her husband Paul; his siblings, Joyce Culbreth and her husband Robert, Dan “Hoss” Smith and his wife Kelly, Kimberly Henson and her husband Chris. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Danielle, Erica, Alisha, Casey, Cameron, Shayla, Dylan, Tyson, Chase, Jonte and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Aspyn, Travis, Ayden and Tylea and a number of nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with an informal service of reflections beginning at 7 pm. A committal service with military honors by the US Marine Corps Honor Guard will be held on Thursday, July 27, at 2 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
