Donald Wayne Rogers

Mr. Donald Wayne Rogers, 63, resident of High Point, died August 19, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Mr. Rogers was born April 30, 1954 in Person County, a son to William Rogers Jr. and Millie Shotwell Rogers.  He lived most of his life in South Boston, VA, and was a 1974 graduate of Halifax County High School and a member of the Marching Comet Band.  He was retired from the 4 C’s Canteen Corporation and has lived in this area for the past 21 years.

Surviving is his mother, Millie Ford of High Point; best friend, Frank Rachol of High Point; son, Brian Rogers and best friend Chris of Charlotte; daughter, Sabrina Gilliam and husband Matt of S. Boston, VA; and grandson, Grant Gilliam of S. Boston, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Pastor Scott Wagoner officiating.  Visitation will immediately follow the service.  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
