Mrs. Fleetwood Hubbard Howington, age 95, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
She was born on December 25, 1918 in Rockingham County, NC to the late James Henry Hubbard and Estella Wood Hubbard. She had been a resident of the High Point/ Thomasville area most of her life. She worked for Diamond Hosiery of High Point and retired after many years of service. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, going to Walmart, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents preceding her in death was her husband, William D. Howington, a son, Jim Howington, her daughter, Connie Ann Howington, her daughter in-law, Linda Howington, her sister, Janie Jones and a brother, J.W. Hubbard.
Surviving are her son, Michael Howington; her daughter in-law, Laurene Howington; her brother, Billy Ray Hubbard. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Scott Howington and his wife Carol, Ben Howington, Kris Howington, and David Howington, Sr., and his wife Ashley; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Scott Howington, and David Howington, Jr and her great-great-granddaughter, Kali Howington.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Howington’s life will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock from the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Pastor Mike Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
