HIGH POINT- George Arthur Suda, 76, passes away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of Marilyn (Claeson) Suda to whom he was married for 52 years.

Mr. Suda was born February 23, 1938, in Astoria, New York, a son of the late Joseph William and Rose Margaret (Adamac) Suda.  He was a graduate of Columbia University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and earned his Mater’s degree in Business from CW Post University.  He was a former employee of Telephonics Corporation until his retirement.

Mr. Suda was a proud veteran, serving his country for 39 years in the United States Navy.  He retired as Captain.

Mr. Suda was a very faithful man of the Bible, and was a member of the Masons.  In his spare time he enjoyed studying Naval history, building model ships, fishing, and being creative in any way.  He was also an avid reader.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kim Suda of Winston-Salem, and Jody-Lynne Suda of Goldsboro; son, James Christopher Suda and wife Angela Lisa Suda of Centerville, Ohio; three granddaughters, Caitlyn Grace Suda of Winston-Salem, Judy Smith and her fiancé, Shawn Paschall of Goldsboro, and Elizabeth Jordan Suda of Centerville, Ohio; two nieces, Catherine Audet and her husband Dan, of Connecticut, and Christine DiOrio and her husband, Gary, of Milford, Connecticut; and many friends.

Funeral services were held in private at the request of the family.
