Jody I remember you and Doug from youth choir at GSBC.. I also remember how much in love you were! He had a great voice and was a good friend to all who knew him.

Being in the ministry, I was not around High Point much, except to visit family.. I did see Doug when I was doing Bob Maxwell's(Carol and I were great friends in high school)funeral at Green St. some years ago and I saw Doug and we had the greatest time going down "memory lane". He was so proud of his kids and showed me pictures, talked about his life. I knew from that experience he was a man of great faith. I will be praying for all of his family during this time of grief and celebrating his life!

I remember that resonant voice of Doug when he was in high school and a member of the Green Street youth choir, when I was the organist and accompanist there. How blessed High Point was, because he remained there to share his gift with the community!

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I have so many fond memories of Doug (and his sister, Vicky) from our growing up years living in the same neighborhood. We all spent a lot of time in their backyard playing rollerbat, softball, etc.

My heart and prayers are with the family. Prayers that You will have the comfort that only God can give during this time.

I remember Doug from Andrews High School. He was a talented and caring young man. He offered to sing a special song for me to my new husband at our reception, August 4, 1979, "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. Although we weren't close friends, I will always treasure that memory he created for us that has followed us through our 37 years of marriage. I found the picture and will share it on Facebook where Susan Mitchell shared this heart breaking news in hopes you can see it. I didn't see a way to attach it on this page. Your family is in my heart as you travel this difficult road.

What an honor to have known Doug as husband and father. He was a quality person, so genuine, kind and gifted. We are so sad at the passing of Doug. Our prayers go out to Jody and the boys. I will never forget his beautiful voice and always remember how joyous it was to have him sing at our wedding 9 years ago! Now his voice will be heard across the heavens for all to enjoy. May peace be with the family.

What a beautiful tribute to Doug's life. My prayers are with the family and friends. I knew his mom through church, Life on Lexington. I sent him a card just last year when she passed away, telling him how special and friendly his mother was to me. May God comfort and guide you through this time of mourning.

Jody, I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He truly was an honest and sincere man and I so enjoyed my years of working with him at MedCost. I had the opportunity to speak to him once in recent months to tell him that I was praying for his recovery, and he was just as jovial and pleasant as I remembered him. In spite of his condition he was always interested in how others were doing. His love for Christ and his family was written all over his face. Please accept my condolences to you and your boys.
