Jerry Jefferson Morgan

Mr. Jerry Jefferson Morgan, 86, resident of Kernersville, died August 13, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Jerry was born April 27, 1931 in Guilford County, a son to the late Dossie and Ellsworth B. Morgan.  As a resident of High Point most of his life, he was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting and retired from Sears Roebuck.  On June 26, 1948 he married the former Betty Lou Redding who survives of the residence.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Morgan; a sister, Elizabeth Reddick; and two brothers, Donald and John Morgan.

Also surviving are three daughters, Jane Morgan Smith of Winston-Salem, Joanna Smaltz and husband Bill of Wake Forest and Jill Sears and husband Mike of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Peggie Baxter of Greensboro and Barbara Powell of McDonough, GA; six grandchildren, Jason Robertson, Jared Robertson, Anna Paolella, Emily Sears, Audrey Sears and Will Sears; and four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Emma and Addie Robertson and Johnny Paolella.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Saturday at Springfield Friends Meeting with Pastor Joshua Brown officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jeff Morgan Memorial Fund at Quaker Lake Camp, 1503 N.C. Hwy 62 East, Climax, NC, 27233 or to Springfield Friends Meeting, 555 E. Springfield Rd. High Point, NC, 27263.  Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is assisting the family.
