When Jerry walked into our lives 50 years ago with his genuinely caring manner and that infectious laugh, he had no idea to what degree he would impact our lives. My twin brother and I were the ones to benefit from his friendship over the years. I truly hope he felt the same. I can say from my heart he was caring, he was kind, and he brightened our days! Our carolina blue sky won't seem quite so blue without him!

I never worked for Jerry but, I worked with him. My favorite times were getting up early to see a shuttle launch, and pulling 4g's with him at Rocket City in Huntsville, Al. His energy level and ability to smile through anything kept us younger guys going. I'm saddened I missed his last flight but, I'm sure it won't take long to land that King Aire in heaven. God be with you Jerry Steppe.

Jerry and Gail sit behind Charlie and I at church, we love them both. I would turn around when it was time to shake hands but he always had a hug. We will miss hearing his laughs, his "amens" and his singing. All of which are being heard in his new home. He had the best voice, you keep singing Jerry. We will see you again... Gail please tell us if we can do anything for you.

Jerry has always been there for me through difficult times but I will always remember his laughter and smile and handshake. So much fun to be around. The knee slapping laughs will go on in my mind for sure. I'll miss you partner. Take my brother Fred out on God's golf course and, " kick his ass" ! Then please take my Granddaughter Miss Lilly for a walk in heaven she will love you!!

Gayle and Jerry have lived across the street from my parents for so long. I will always remember coming home from school, work or just visiting my parents and seeing him golfing in the yard. :) Keeping you in my prayers during this time Mrs. Gayle.

I first met Jerry in 1996 or 97 at a GDYR distributors meeting, he helped me a lot getting started in the Nascar business. He was somebody you could call at a moments notice and get advise or help. Even though I didn't see Jerry much over the past few years he was always a great friend.

We have shared countless afternoons on the golf course, probably more than a thousand lunch hours together, and more laughs than I could begin to count. I will greatly miss my fine, true friend, Jerry Steppe.
