I was with High Point Bank when we opened our office in Pennybyrn and had the privilege of becoming friends with Mrs. Lawrence. My daughter Kathryn met her and they became fast friends. Once I was relocated to Greensboro I lost touch but always remember her laugh and encouragement. She was a wonderful, sweet lady and she meant a lot to me and Kathryn. We would think of her often and always plan to visit but life got in the way. I am so sorry that this bright ray of sunshine is not in our world any longer but I am sure she shines bright in Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed!

I will miss Joan's beautiful smile and infectious laugh! Everyone at Pennybyrn loved her and her special, Stuie. Our prayers are with you.

We send our sincere condolences to the family of Joan Lawrence. We knew her as the "cat lady" who strolled past our cottage at Pennybyrn, followed, amazingly, by her white cat! She was a lovely, friendly person with a good sense of humor. We will miss her, and will mark her life by a gift to the Resident Care Campaign.
