Keith "Jack" Barrett Flynn

High Point—Mr. Keith “Jack” Barrett Flynn, 85, Passed away Friday December 15, 2017 at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was born in Gibsonville NC to the late John Franklin and Bertha Boone Flynn. Jack Graduated from Gibsonville High School and attended Elon College. He was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was President of High Point Refrigeration and served as the President of High Point Swim Club, was involved with the High Point Jaycees. He was also a founding member and longtime President of Sheraton Hills Swim Club and Jack belonged to the NC and VA Ice Association. He served as Chairman of the High Point Housing Authority and the High Point Parks and Recreation Comissin. He was a member of Mercury Athletic Club in High Point and a member of the High Point Country Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eight siblings
He is survived by his wife; Nan Freemon Flynn of High Point, - sons Chris Barrett Flynn of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jay Mark Flynn and wife Kim of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida, and Keith Barrett Flynn Jr. and wife Angie of Matthews, North Carolina; - daughters Sally F McKenzie and husband Bill of High Point, North Carolina, and Nan Flynn of Nashville, Tennessee; - Grandchildren William Roberts McKenzie III and wife Courtney May, Sarah Peterson and husband Chuck, Taylor Chen and husband Chris, Caroline Flynn, Thomas Flynn, Macie Flynn and Keith Barrett “Jake” Flynn III; - Great Grandchildren Liam Winans, Elsie Chen and Turner McKenzie; and Sister Pearl Shepherd of Gibsonville, North Carolina.
The funeral service will be Sunday December 17, 2017 at First United Methodist Church 512 North Main Street High Point, North Carolina 27260 at 4:00 by the Reverend John Fitzgerald. There will be a reception following the service at the High Point Country Club 800 Country Club Drive High Point, North Carolina 27262
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nursing staff of 6 North at High Point Regional Hospital and also to the caring staff of Westchester Harbor.
