For over seventy-five years Mary and her family have shared faith, fellowship, and friendship with the Saunders Family. She was a best friend of my mother and father, Fannie Mae and Ralph, and now Gwen and I want to tell you, the Families of Betty, Jack and Jerry how very much that relationship meant to us. When I visited her last at the Retirement Home we sat at the piano and sang hymns. It was a moving experience. One could always feel her warmth and love.
When I learned of her death tonight I felt a pang in my heart and will offer thanksgiving for the life she lived every day. And so, we send our heartfelt sympathies to every member of your family and regret that I will not be able to attend the Service on Wednesday...but will be with you in my thoughts.
