I do not know Pastor McKeehan, however, his death has hit me. I am a Pastor in Georgia and I am applying for the Pastor position you advertised for your church. Now, I do not think I will because this man seems like he was a perfect fit to your church and community and I think you will have a difficult time filling this position. I really want to send my sincere condolences to the family and the congregation. May God heal this community so it can move on with their life. God Bless you. Pastor Stephen McCarty.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Robert. I have been looking for a couple of years now for possible relatives. Estil McKeehan was my birth father as well as Robert's father. I recently found information about Robert only to see that he has gone to be with the Lord. I send my sincerely condolences to his family. I didn't get the chance to talk or meet you in this earthly life but I will definitely see you in the heavenly one. If his family has any questions for me, they are welcomed to contact me. There are no words that can adequately convey the loving compassion we are sending to the family today. Only the Mind of Christ can do that. He says I WILL NEVER LEAVE NOR FORSAKE YOU. LO I AM WITH YOU ALWAY. (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5; Deut. 31:66, 8). IT'S THE TRAGEDY WE HEAR TOO MUCH OF IN THESE LAST DAYS. WE ARE THE HOUSE OF PRAYER & PRAY WE MUST FOR THOSE WHO SHEPHERD THE BODY OF CHRIST. JESUS PRAYED THE ENTIRE TIME ON EARTH. SINCE HE AROSE FROM THE DEAD HE HAS BEEN INTERCEDING FOR HIS CHURCH FOR MORE THAN 2000 YEARS. WE MUST PRAY FOR PASTORS NOW MORE THAN EVER. Will be in prayer tonight on the Wall (The Midnight Cry).

Robert, I wished I had the chance to have made a difference in your life. I know you would still be here if I had only tried to be in your life better. I feel like I have let you down and this eats me up inside so deep. If you didn't know this before or ever, I want you to know this now I love you, always have, and always will for the rest of my earthy life. I will see you again, and I will tell you over and over again how much you meant to me. Till I see you. I Love You Robert your sister Elvira

Dear Mckeehan and CBC family,

I have tried for days to find the words to express the profound sadness I feel for your great loss. There are no words! I can only echo what Jonathan Haefs, Shades Valley Community Church, Birmingham said. "We mourn with you and we hurt for you."
We send our love, prayers and hope that God's grace will comfort you.

Continuing in prayer, your brother in Christ.

April 16, 2014 9:05 PM

This news is very shocking and sad to me, and I expect that it is to many others as well. Last month, upon invitation, our church neighbor, Pastor McKeehan, came over to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church to share in a dialogue with us on faith matters. I was very impressed with Pastor McKeehan, and I appreciate his thoughtful answers to the questions posed by others and by me. I had so many questions that we did not have time to get to all of them during the dialogue, so I follow-up contacted Pastor McKeehan via e-mail with a few more questions, and he was nice enough to respond. Pastor McKeehan and I seemed to hit it off as friends in a short amount of time, and I appreciate his kindness to me. Obviously, I never saw his passing away coming. Pastor McKeehan will certainly be missed by many. My sincere condolences and prayers for God's blessings to his family and his congregation. --Paul J. Klosterman, High Point, NC.

As everyone who knew Rob, we are numb and heart broken to say the least! In time, we will remember more of all the good he has done and the countless people he brought to Christ! As my wife said he had the gift to talk to 1000 people and you felt he was talking directly to you!
We are in strong prayer for his family and those that knew him best! As I am sure Rob reminded many, we will eventually be re-united with him surounded by the full glory of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Although I didn't know Rob well on a personal basis, i find myself fighting back tears as I write this. Rob, we will miss you, but do find some peace in knowing that you are with the Lord as I write this! Your impact upon our family, the congreagation, and the community was profound and a blessing!

Never heard Pastor Mckeehan sermon live, but heard of his passion and love for the Lord. I'm deeply sorrowful for the loss of this great person and to the family, may your pain and grief during this time be replaced by the knowledge that this absence is only temporary and that Pastor Rob is watching down over you. May his children find comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ during this time and may they grow to be Spiritual Leaders.

I still can't find the words to describe the pain, void, numbness, & shock of having lost Pastor Robert. I feel so empty inside. I am fairly new to the Community Bible Church family, but his sermons not only helped me renew my dying faith in our Lord God but they also found my husband wanting to attend church which is not something my husband has ever shown interest in doing. I remember his preaching bringing tears to my eyes and my husband's eyes because it was as though he knew exactly what we needed to hear in those moments in our lives. I know that recovering from the loss of Pastor Robert is only going to come with the help of our God. Pastor Robert will forever live in my heart and he will never be forgotten. I can't wait to one day tell him how much he inspired me to return to my faith, how he gave me hope in my life, and how he made my soul feel alive with his sermons.

My countless, endless prayers go out to his wife and 2 children. My prayers also go out to every person who has ever been spiritually touched by this man. I know there are too many to ever be able to count, and I challenge every one of us to continue to strive to be the best Christian examples we can be and do the work of God and Jesus Christ; to show the demons & Satan that their evil works only make our Christian Family work harder and more diligently. God Bless.

Love,
Raina Brown

We will miss him and his encouraging, Godly sermons. Mostly, we will miss a friend and brother in Christ. His words and actions always seemed to lift us up at the right time. His focus was always to save the broken with the good news of Jesus Christ. We will continue to pray for Elizabeth, Scarlett, John and his immediate family. We will also pray for our CBC church family.

Dear McKeehan family and CBC faith family,

Please know that you are being loved and prayed for by people who have never met you from all over the globe. Our Church (Shades Valley Community in Birmingham, Al) prayed for you all this past Sunday and we continue to do so. When one part of the body of Christ suffers, all suffer with it...we mourn with you and hurt for you...and we hope for you. May God's grace carry you all through the confusion and questions. May God's love comfort you. Please know that you are loved.

May his grace be with you,

I can never forget Pastor Robert. It was through his message at First Missionary Church in Jamaica in August 2011 that God spoke clearly to me and told me that the work that He has given me to do is similar to the work that He gave William Wilberforce. He said that in the same way that Wilberforce persevered, the same way I need to persevere. It changed my life. Love and prayers to Elizabeth, John and Scarlett. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

I know that nothing happens without God’s approval. Pastor Robert will truly be missed as he was a true blessing for students and staff members at Parkview Elementary. I often think of a garden full of flowers when loved ones or special people are near. Most people pick the most fragrant and beautiful flower to display for special occasions. I can only imagine God reaching down and picking one of his most precious flowers. Pastor Robert will be greatly missed being a mentor, reading/lunch buddy, staff encourager and supporter of Parkview.

Pastor Robert will be missed by all. He was such a meaningful part of my families growth in Christ. There are not words to describe our sadness and void. Pastor Robert was so phenominal in his teachings that "we got it" when he preached. His love of the Lord was great, therefore, he helped my husbands and myselfs love for the Lord grow as well. I am eterenally thankful for that. I also am thankful for the day he dedicated our daughter Hailey to the Lord. His teachings will never be forgotten along with the brilliance of delivering them. We will miss you so much.
I pray for Elizabeth, John and Scarlett that they will find peace in all this sadness. May God be with you throught his time.

With Love,
Kenneth, Melissa and Hailey Kenyon

I'll never forget the first Sunday, Pastor Robert came into the sanctuary like a kid that got his first bike for Christmas. He was overwhelmed with all those serving in choir, praise band, AV, tech people. He snapped up shots on his camera and posted them on his social media links, then he came up (on stage) to thank us in the band. It was something I will never forget. Many times, week after week folks in ministry share their talents but there are very few who tangibly thank them. Perhaps we're all a little numb now with Robert's passing, but let's let his legacy live on. Thank those at your church repeatedly for serving and sharing their talents. Pray for the pastors and staff in you church. We never know the intense spiritual battles each are facing as they help to point the masses in 'the paths of righteousness.' Thanks Robert for being such a great example of this. Dave Lombardo

We will miss you dearly and will never forget you or all the powerful messages you delivered that brought us spiritual healing in our times of need. May those same messages encourage us to be strong during this time of great sorrow and bring us peace in knowing our lives are better because of you. This is not good-bye forever, but instead, a mere temporary separation. May you RIP until we meet again some sweet, glorious day, my brother, my friend.

I am shocked, heart broken, shaken to the core over the loss of Robert. I am certain those feelings are shared by hundreds of folks that knew and loved him. Robert was the most genuine guy and by far the coolest Pastor I've ever known. We talked music and our love of Hair Bands and Power Ballads. We loved that we were products of the 80's and flew that flag proudly. :) I'll miss his quick wit, his sense of humor, his teasing - most of the time his jokes were at his own expense. Which was so endearing.

I'm proud to be a member of Community Bible Church. I'm proud to call the McKeehans and everyone there - family. I will continue to pray hard for Elizabeth, John and Scarlett. You know he loved them dearly and his world centered around them. There wasn't a conversation or a sermon where he wasn't telling stories about his sweet family. I'll miss Robert and I know one day we'll find answers - but not on this side of Heaven. Until then - his legacy, light and love will move forward.

Robert had such an obvious and abundant gift for preaching, and his sermons were a delightful blend of humor and serious truth. As another said, I think he was so sincere and warm. In a world that is constantly pushing self-love Robert knew the purpose and value of genuine relationship and service. We all have been blessed by his joyful love of The Lord Jesus! The very first thing that stood out to me, and most of all things, is the fact Robert knew my name. He would make a point to look directly at me, ask how I was, ending with "Michelle". I often wondered if he wondered why I looked at him funny when he did that. It took me by surprise every time. Hardly anybody ever does that, at least to me, but he did, no matter how stand-offish I was. He just wanted to make sure everyone of doing well. He really cared about that. I will never forget him for that. Not ever. For me, he went too soon. Rest in Peace, Robert. And God bless you, Elizabeth and your children. You are in our prayers for peace and comfort during this season of your lives.

Robert was our pastor at Crosspoint Church in East Peoria. He was an integral part of our family through joys and sorrows. He loved our Lord and His Word with all of his heart. He walked the walk. He loved his family and being a husband and father. They were always the joy of his life. Cliff and I remember him as a faithful follower of Christ and a man after God's own heart. Pastor Robert was was one of a kind. I have never known a pastor like him. I have been coming to CBC for almost 3 years now. He knew my name the 2ed time I attended service. He always had time to speak and would ask about family by name as well. In a church so large it showed how he loved us all to take the time to know each member. I am devastated by his passing. I am stunned and saddened at this news. I so enjoyed Pastor Robert's sermons on the Afterlife and last Sunday's on Everything and Nothing. He was truly a man of God who lived what he preached. I was so touched by all of the joy and love he brought to the school I teach at (Parkview Village Elementary) that I had to come and hear him speak. He will truly be missed.
