Scott and I lived in Cherryville as young people and all my memories of him are pleasant, I only recently learned of his passing and was deeply saddened, I was looking forward to seeing him on a visit to Cherryville.

Mrs Cherry
I was fortunate to know Scott. He and I cut up some at work. He also helped me with math problems that consisted of algebra, trig and calculus. I will miss him greatly.

It's been a few days now but it's still difficult to read the e-mail from Doug Wegner and believe that Scott has passed away.

My heart, condolences, and sincerest sympathies goes out to the entire City of High Point folks that worked with him. Scott was a great person to work with. He always looked at problems or issues with common sense, was always willing to listen to other points of view, was straightforward, discussed possible options with us and resolved things as quickly and efficiently as possible. I will truly miss working with him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Scott's family and all of his City of High Point family. I pray that God bless his immortal soul and may Jesus Christ, our Savior, keep his family in the close comfort of his everlasting love and watch over them in this time of need.

Galatians? ?5?:?22-23? ESV "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

This scripture captures the life of Scott Cherry! I'm grateful for his submission to God and his example to me. His life has truly been a success and his impact will continue as we remember his example

I always enjoyed spending time with Scott- he was a wonderful man. Our golf outings were also so much fun. I especially appreciated his taking the time to come to my retirement dinner- it meant a lot to me. I could always count on him to buy Girl Scout cookies to support my granddaughter. His great smile and personality will be missed by all. He will always be remembered as an excellent friend. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Words are not enough to express what a wonderful man Scott was. Like a big brother, always watching out and bringing sunshine into places he knew needed it. My life is so much richer to have known him and to have called him my friend. Heaven has truly gained another angel.

I first met Scott at an APWA National Congress in New Orleans. I could immediately see that this guy had a servant's heart and a great personality. Before we left to come home we made a side trip with other friends to the bayou on an airboat to see alligators. We had a great time and have great memories. Fortunately, Scott became a part of our Public Services team in High Point shortly thereafter and he has served the city well. He was there for anyone, anytime and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace my "Professional Engineer" brother.

To the family, may you all be granted comfort and strength during this difficult time and dwell on fond memories of times shared with Scott. He was a special person. God bless you all.

Scott Cherry touched many lives even though his life ended much too soon. I had the honor of knowing Scott through several areas over our careers. He always represented himself and his organization with the utmost touch of professionalism. My heart goes out to his family, but we must be encouraged in knowing that we shall see him again. May God grant you peace and comfort through the ministry of His Holy Spirit.
