William Michael Taylor

 William Michael (Mike) Taylor, 73, of High Point passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 in Statesville, North Carolina.

Mike was born May 10, 1944, in Baltimore, MD, to Lee and Doris (Leonard) Taylor. He graduated from Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, where he was known for his impeccable style. He was voted “Best Dressed” by his peers in the 1962 class.

Mike later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Reserves, where he received a Rifleman’s Badge and a Good Conduct Medal.

Throughout his life, Mike was a great salesperson. He sold everything from pew benches, flooring and rugs, and High Point furniture, to gas and food from Holmes Grocery.

Mike was a jokester and was always the life of the party at any function he attended. He will be remembered for helping anyone in need.

Mike is survived by his children Kristie Taylor (Jeff) Badgett and Thad Michael (Shannon) Taylor from his marriage to Karen Marie Campbell, and his four grandchildren, Lillian Marie Badgett, Connor Harris Badgett, Sierra Ashtyn Taylor and Kaylee Elizabeth Taylor. 

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his sister Norma and his brother Phillip.

The family will gather with friends to celebrate Mike’s life from 6- 8p.m. Sunday December 17 at the Cumby Family Funeral Home in High Point, NC. Private graveside services for the family will be held  at the Church of Our Savior Woodside in Lincolnton, NC.
