ARCHDALE-Johnny Krieger, 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015.
He was born in High Point on March 31st, 1939 to the late Howard Milton and Virginia Morris Krieger. A resident of this area all of his life, he was employed in the furniture industry until retirement, having worked for Tomlinson, Swaim, Classic Gallery, and TBOE. In the 1980’s he taught Upholstery at GTCC. He was a licensed Hot Air Balloon Pilot and was a member of the Carolina Hot Air Balloon Association for many years. He was a long time member of Springfield Friends Meeting, where he was a member of the Charles F. Reddick Sunday School class, was an Usher, and served Springfield Friends in many other capacities. Johnny enjoyed helping people, whether he was helping students with school projects in his wood working shop, serving as a Boy Scout Leader, or donating blood. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family; especially camping at the beach. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a sister, Phyllis Mendelson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Becky Giles Krieger; his children, Terry Lynn Mullins, Johnny Milton Krieger II and Jennifer; Phillip Craig Krieger and Michelle; his brother. Stanley Krieger and Susan; his grandchildren, Christopher Mullins, Ocean Summey and Andrew, Nicki Mullins, Dustin Krieger, Kasie Tague, Johnny Race Krieger, and Silver Krieger.
A service to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 11th, at Springfield Friends Meeting, with Joshua Brown, Pastor of Springfield Friends Meeting, officiating. Interment will follow in the Meeting House cemetery. His family will receive friends on Thursday, December 10th, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
