James Edward "Ed" Bolen

TRINITY-James Edward “Ed” Bolen, 57, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

He was born on July 9, 1959 in Guilford County, son of the late Clarence Owen and Marie Lightsey Bolen. A resident of this area all of his life, he was formerly employed at Carson Furniture of High Point. Ed enjoyed watching NASCAR and being part of a race team at Caraway Speedway; where his team had won two Baby Grand Championships.  He also enjoyed working on cars, fishing and was an avid Tarheel and Carolina Panthers fan. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his brother, Robert David Bolen and a close friend, Danny Robertson.

He leaves to cherish his memory; the mother of his children and caregiver, Sherry Bolen; his daughters, Amber Conner and husband John, Melissa Green and husband Kevin; his brothers, Ray Bolen and wife Patricia, Joe Bolen and wife Susan and Danny Bolen. Also surviving are his grandchildren, True Conner, Avery Conner and Mercy Green; his best friend, Lonnie Caulder and a number of other close family and friends.

A service to celebrate Ed’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 2 pm in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Reverend Michael Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:45 until 1:45 pm, at the funeral home.
