Greensboro—Jamesina Thompson Hollingsworth of Greensboro (Formerly From High Point), Passed away at Clapps Nursing Home of Pleasant Garden on May 22, 2017 at the age of 97 years. She had been in declining health for several years with Alzheimer’s/ Dementia. A memorial service will be held at Cumby Funeral Home at 1015 Eastchester Dr. High Point on Saturday, May 27 at 2PM with visitation occurring between 1:00 and 2:00 PM immediately prior to the memorial service. Interment will be Private Jamesina was born in Randolph county in the year 1919, to Arthur and Rosa Thompson, and was a member of a large family of 9 children Jamesina graduated from Jamestown High School. After her graduation, she married Thomas W. Hollingsworth, known by his friends as “TW”. She and her husband built and operated a grocery store/ hardware business on Kivett Drive in High Point, opening it in the year 1938 and closing it in 1985. After closing the business, Jamesina after taking several courses at NC State, began preparing taxes for the many people she knew so well in the neighborhood, and continued in this endeavor until her heath began to fail and she moved to Greensboro to be near her family. Jamesina was predeceased by her husband, “TW” in 1998 and her daughter, Judith H. Kemmer in 2015. She is survived by her sister, Ann Loflin, of High Point, her son, Tom W. Hollingsworth of Greensboro; two granddaughters Lynne Hollingsworth and Karen Baleno and her husband Joe of Greensboro. She has six great grandchildren Jennifer Manship of Durham, Lauren Manship of Wilmington, Christina Manship of Greensboro, Ashley Baleno of Greensboro and Chicago IL, Joey Baleno of Greensboro and Kate Baleno of Greensboro. The family wishes to thank the very competent staff at Clapps Nursing Center for the kind and competent care they provided for Jamesina during her last few years. The family also wishes to thank Mrs. Shirley Crowder, Jamesina’s roommate at Clapps, for being such a caring roommate, and in general for being such a nice lady. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Associaition, Western Carolina Chapter, P.P.
