Pastor Robert McKeehan

Pastor Robert McKeehan, 42, resident of High Point, went to be with the Lord on April 11th, 2014.

Robert was born March 14th, 1972 in El Paso, TX, a son to Estil and Celia Gallegos McKeehan.  He came to know Christ through Campus Crusade at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where his passion for God’s Word and sharing the Gospel grew.  While there, he majored in Religious Studies and minored in Spanish.  Later he graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a master of Theology.  He served as youth pastor at Riverview Fellowship in Albuquerque, NM, Associate Pastor at Northlake Community Church in Bellingham, WA, Lead Pastor at Cross Point Church in E. Peoria, IL and most recently, Lead Pastor at Community Bible Church in High Point, NC.  While serving at Community Bible he was active in many expansion projects and ministry development activities including: developing a satellite campus in Oak Ridge, purchasing the Women’s Club, CBC Hispana and Hope House (a drug and alcohol recovery center).  He also taught God’s Word to various groups, including the Community Wide Wednesday Morning Men’s Bible Study.  Robert was very health conscious.  He was an active member of Fitness One in Kernersville and competed in the Tough Mudder Run in North Carolina with a team from his church in 2012 and 2013.

On September 7th, 1996 he married the former Elizabeth Cook who survives of the residence.  Also surviving are his children, John and Scarlett McKeehan both of the home; his mother of High Point and two sisters, Elvira Garr of Newton, NC and Brenda Dubovick of Phoenix, AZ.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church at Providence Place.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Community Bible Church in High Point.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Community Bible Church, to benefit it’s Capital Campaign and partnership with Parkview Elementary School, at 4125 Johnson St. High Point, NC 27265.
