Ron Bruce, What a Brother!

Ron’s smile would warm a frozen heart
His laughter sparked contagious grinning
His gentle words made listening easy
You could tell - something deep - there…

Humor was his trademark
Seeing life not too seriously he would say
Giving grace to those around him
It was just his gentle way

What Ron did – was show us
What Christ’s living in one’s heart can do
Transforms one’s nature to giving
To those who might least expect it so…

We loved you our dear brother,
With frail words we try to say
You knew the One Who mattered
And pointed us to see His way

Your life really made a difference, not only to Mary
Your kids, grandkids and greats
But to the rest of us, you counted
Your life of love and service gave.

On Good Friday, angels rejoiced
Because of Christ’s great price He paid
Ron Bruce, His treasured child called home to hear -
“Well Done, My good and faithful ONE”.

To Mary, Dean and the rest of the family. You have our sympathies and prayers, on your loss. Probably our first memories, are the fun loving camper at Otyokwah, and later as a student at Winebrenner. May God Bless each of you. Ken & Phyllis Heffner

We are thankful to have known Ron and been under his pastoral care at Dewart Lake Friends. He presided as we dedicated out daughter to the Lord, and he and Mary gave her her first Bible. We have so many memories of his Bible teaching and the times he prayed with us and ministered to us. Glad he is resting in the arms of Jesus, and our love goes to his family. Mary, may God give you comfort and peace.--Brandon and Amy Dennis

In Memory of God’s Servant

Here, in Ukraine, Ron Bruce has become for us a true example of commitment to calling of Christ to bring Gospel to the whole world and to make desciples. Being thousands of miles away we always felt his prayers, his sincere interest in ministry of evangelism in Ukraine. He participated in many outreach projects of International Partnerships and local churches, demonstrating witness of humble, authentic and joyful Christian. We will always remember him as a man in whose presence people were beginning to learn what faith, hope, love, joy and peace are. Ron was sharing the Word of God and he was sharing Christ in his own life and it touched many hearts. The leaders in our churches and ministry will always remember Ron as a wise, humble mentor who truly loved Ukraine and its people. His love and care for Mary became an inspiration and an example for us and our families – a lesson how to love a wife as Christ loves His Church. We are grateful to God for life and ministry of Ron Bruce and we will always remember him.

Mary: We were so saddened to learn of Ron's passing. I know he fought hard, but in the end, he did win the victory. You will be in our prayers for many days to come. We will think of Ron every time we pass your house. As we get a bit older, we are encouraged to know that the renunion that all of us will share is nearer than ever. We wanted to make the visitation, but have ministry obligations Monday. May God be with you all.
