Ruby Parries Goins

Archdale- Ruby Parries Goins, 92, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

She was born on December 2, 1924 in Surry County, to the late John and Eliza Belton Parries and had been a resident of this area most of her life. She was a retired employee of Carson’s Furniture had been a member of Archdale Friends Meeting for 65 plus years; where she was a member of the John Archdale Sunday School Class. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family; especially supporting her late husband, F.H. when he was active with the City of Archdale and serving as a City Councilman and with the Archdale Lions Club. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and eating ice cream.  In addition to her parents and her husband, preceding her in death were her son, Larry Goins; her sisters, Lou Cole, Virginia Massey, Ada McBride, Sally Glidewell and Evelyn York and her brothers, Dennis Parries Tommy Parries, Joe Bill Parries, and Jack Parries.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her twin sister, Ruth Thacker and her husband Robert of Stuart, FL, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 11 am, from the graveside in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rusty Parsons, Minister of Archdale Friends Meeting and Reverend Harold Shives officiating. Her family will see friends immediately following the service.
