Sarah Haywood Daniels, 55, a resident of Wilson, formerly of High Point, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
Sarah was born March 6, 1957 in Guilford County, NC to Woodroe Franklin Haywood and Dorothy June Sperry Haywood. She graduated from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and later from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She taught at the Eastern NC School for the Deaf in Wilson for over 20 years, and was currently employed as an EC Specialist with the Nash/ Rocky Mount School System. Sarah enjoyed reading, walking, going to the beach, and working in her garden. She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Sperry Haywood of High Point, her twin sister; Mary Haywood Clark and her husband Clarence of Pittsboro, her brothers; David F. Haywood and his wife Gayle of Brentwood, TN, and J. Paul Haywood and his wife Donna of Kannapolis. Also surviving are her nieces; Amy Haywood Dutton and her husband Henry of Franklin, TN, Sara Haywood Walker and her husband Brent of Lexington, KY, and Laura Anne Haywood of Brentwood, TN, her nephews; Matthew Kurt Clark of Pittsboro, and Benjamin Paul Haywood of Kannapolis.
A service to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, with Reverend Bruce Hartgrove officiating. The family will see friends following the service.
