I worked at Cornerstone Surgery prior to my retirement. I always enjoyed seeing Bill there when he came for appointments. I also am a 1972 graduate from Brevard college.Bill and I always shared the love for our Alma Mater. Bill was a true southern gentleman. My sympathy to all the family who I know will miss him.

It is difficult to begin to imagine our family without Uncle Bill. There will certainly be a void where his presence, joy and laughter should be. My life has been changed because I was fortunate enough to be a part of his life. Uncle Bill and Aunt Alice are more than my aunt and uncle...they are like parents to me and I am blessed for the wonderful times we have shared. Uncle Bills legacy surely will be the lessons he taught all of us who knew him about life's purpose being one of sharing and using what we are given to help improve the world around us. Life will not be the same....but I thank God for the life of Uncle Bill and know that Heaven is an even more joyous place now that he is there. We will miss you and love you so much...

Bill was an amazing person. His kindness and generosity touched so many lives. My life is better because I knew him and he always made me feel special. Bill was like a father to me in many ways. I admire how much he loved Alice, Billy, and Derick. He taught me that life isn't about how much you earn, acquire or achieve. Rather life is what you do with those things and how you treat people. Bill and Alice would light up a room whenever they entered it and I will always treasure the times I spent with them. I will never forget that he cared about me and that he treated me will love, support and encouragement when I needed it the most. My thoughts and prayers are with Alice and all of those he leaves behind. I have no doubt that the Gates of Heaven rejoiced when he entered. Until we meet again my dear, dear friend Bill. All my love, Paige Dickens Wheeler

Uncle Bill brought many times of happiness, joy and love to our family. We will never forget all the Army Navy games he attended with us. He was the light of the party on our AMTRAK train car. He was a hero to our daughter, Dena, as her Godfather. He would always tell me, his nephew Bill, that he was the REAL Bill Ervin and I was just the FAKE. When we got the news yesterday of his passing, all we could think of was that the REAL Bill Ervin had left this earth to go to his Heavenly home. And, now there can only be a fake, as NO ONE could ever be the REAL Bill Ervin but him.

We love you, Bill!!

Every now and then you get a chance to meet a person that enriches your life on so many levels and you realize that to have met and worked with them was a special privilege. Bill was one of those special people. My deepest sympathy to the family.
