Elizabeth Louan (Carter) CopelandOctober 19, 1946 ~ June 10, 2017 (age 70)
Elizabeth Louan (Carter) Copeland, 70, resident of High Point, took her last breath on this earth and entered into Heaven, surrounded by her family at Hospice Home at High Point on June 10, 2017. She was born October 19, 1946 to Howard and Annie Carter of Greensboro. Louan is survived by her two sons, Edwin Copeland and wife Amber of High Point and Robert Copeland of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are her sister, Martha Carter Tyler of High Point, as well as her nephews, Jonathan Tyler and wife Joanna of Greensboro, James Tyler of Gibsonville and niece Tammy Melton and husband Glenn of Thomasville. Louan always found great delight in her great-nieces and nephews, Liz, Jake, Landon, Savannah, Morgan and Emmelyn.
Louan as she was known by her family and friends, worked for many years at Klaussner Furniture until the Greensboro plant closed. She retired from J C Penny at Four Seasons Mall, where she worked at the switchboard and children’s clothing department. Louan also offered her knitting talents at the Hayworth Cancer Center to make prayer shawls and other items for cancer patients as her way to minister to others. Louan was also a long standing member of Shining Light Baptist Church in Greensboro. She loved her church family dearly. Her faith in God, and knowing that she was going to be once again with her loved ones in a much better place gave so much peace to her, as well as her family and friends.
Funeral services for Louan will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Shining Light Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Thomas Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
She loved giving to missions through her church. To honor her, memorials may be made to Missions at Shining Light Baptist Church, 4530 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27409.
